Super Mario!

The best goal ever scored in the Premiership

I do agree that this particular goal is bloody marvellous, because of the way he fucks around flicking it about before he takes the shot, and because it was his Chelsea debut, but it's always been a pet peeve of mine that Goal of the Month etc always includes a long range effort eg Matty Taylor for Pompey. Those goals are over-rated: they do look spectacular and are very funny, but all that's really happened is that the scorer has been aware enough to see that the keeper is off his line and managed to put the ball into a basically undefended net from 40-50 yards. There's not much skill involved (as opposed, say, to a Rooney or a Henry beating four defenders and calmly slotting it in past the keeper from a ridiculous angle) - I've seen Bath City players score opportunistic long-range goals at least a couple of times - they're great fun, but not great goals.

So what *is* the greatest goal then? Post a link and I'll reply saying Stanic is better :)
