Quote of the Weekend

"The people who run this game, sometimes I think they just don't understand joy, and sharing"

- Andy Gray after Fabregas was booked for running into the crowd to celebrate his equaliser at Anfield.

I have worried for a few years about the clamping down on celebrations. However, the NFL leads the world in ridiculous post-score rules

In 2006 the NFL, in an effort to cut down on celebrations, amended rules to include an automatic 15 yard penalty to any player who leaves his feet or uses a prop.

The NFL are, quite literally, spoilsports.

no way! I like:

"Horn spiked the ball after scoring the touchdown, and then went to the upright, where he pulled a hidden cell phone out of the padding on it and then used it to call his kids."

and of course Canadian football players’ celebrations “may not include much dancing at all, instead a quick comical sketch.”

The first premiership player to sign a ball and throw it to the crowd will get my love forever.

Also - Nani's goal this weekend was good, but the celebration was extrodinatry. Really raising the bar for those who thought a simple backflip was good enough.

And of course Canadians. Please tell me I wasn't the only one thinking of Kids in the Hall head squashing in the endzone.
